Who Am I

Know about me

It is always difficult to talk about me. So, I will be very brief.
My name is Cristina Morgado. Born in Mozambique (Africa) and a daughter of Portuguese parents. As you can see a product of love and history.

As a consequence of another curve in life, I am now living in Australia for the last three decade.

I have been teaching proudly the Portuguese Language for the last twenty years in this beautiful country that now I call home.

I do this because I have a great passion to share my language, my history, my culture, my music with everyone that for private and professional reasons are seeking this beautiful experience.

Hours (Professional and Work-related courses)

The lessons are conduct on daily basis. Three hours per day with the teacher. Following each  lesson there is a three hours homework daily. The lessons are conduct also from Monday to Friday unless an agreement is agreed upon.   Beginners level: 12 weeks, 3 hours a day of tutorials plus three hours of individual homework.   Intermedium level: 10 weeks, 3 hours a day of tutorials, plus 3 hours of Homework.   Advanced level: 12 weeks, 3 hours a day of tutorials, plus 3 hours of homework.   Total of 34 weeks = 510 hours
  • The 34 weeks, 510 hours are the minimum of time for the students to reach the levels above. It is possible and according to individual ability to learn we may have an extension in time of tutoring. This time could be agreed between the teacher and the student.
Beginner level: 2 weeks, 3 hours day, plus 1 hour or more a day.  Total of 30 hours. Intermedium level: 3 weeks, 3 hours a day, plus 1 hour of homework or more. Total of 45 hours. Advance level: 3 weeks, 3 hours a day, plus 1 hour or more of homework. Total of 45 hours
One hour per session, one or twice a week. There will be discussions on current and different topics / conversations. This exercise could be done by group or individual sessions. An article from different sources can be delivered one day before the class to the participants. This has the objective to get familiar with the topic
  1. Beginners: it is necessary between 9 to 12 hours. The classes will be 3 hours each.
  2. Intermedium: It is necessary 9 to 12 hours. The classes will be 3 hours each.
  3. Advance: It is necessary 9 to 12 hours. The classes will be of 3 hours each.
These courses will be conducted twice a year during 3 consecutive days on designated weeks. All levels are welcome. See dates for enrollment. These courses will be conduct in blokes of 1 hour and 30 minutes each. Three blokes per day. Total = 5 hours and 30 minutes a day including breaks. Total of = 16 hours and 30 minutes.
  • A1, A2 (Beginners, Level1).
This is a general, basic level of Portuguese with a limited communication based on daily concepts and activities. In reaching the A2, the student will have the ability to interact in daily situation that requires limited knowledge of the Portuguese Language ( in terms of vocabulary, syntax, and grammar). This level is the required level to obtain the Portuguese Nationality.
  • B1 (Intermedium, Level2).
In this level the users of the Portuguese as a second Language are able to interact in several situations of the daily activities either at work, or at Universities and in Schools in general. It includes the ability to read, to speak, and to write at the general level. The speakers will have the ability to maintain and understand a normal conversation about work related and current issues.
  • B2 (Advanced, Level3 (-)
At this level the speaker has already a degree of interacting independently and with a degree of confidence in order to maintain a conversation within a great variety of situations. The speaker is able at this level to recognize the main lexicon and complex sentence structures. The speaker has already a mechanism to debate certain current topics inside of the parameters of social/culture interaction.
  • C1 (Advance +, Level3 (+)
At This level the speaker of the Portuguese as a second Language has a high knowledge of the Portuguese Language, it’s nuances, it’s variations, and it’ s culture diversity. At this level the speaker is able to produce and to recognize oral and written articles, government/official papers, news on TV, with great confidence. At the same time the speakers are able to write, to speak, to debate, and to negotiate on about every current issue (social, cultural, economic, environmental, diplomatic and political) within the parameters, of cultural acceptance. At this level the speakers of the Portuguese Language are able to use the Language independently at his or her workplace.
